Watton High Street is quite unusual in that it has retained much of its market town feel.

With many specialist shops it features fashion, an antiquarian bookshop and picture gallery (JC Books), a large independent electrical retailer, two independent butchers and two specialist hardware and household goods stores. An independent newsagent and a bathroom centre all contribute to the varied feel.

The Wayland Chamber of Commerce publishes an annual Information, Trade & Service Directory. This lists local information, including clubs and societies and sports and leisure provision.
